Octave and Scilab on a Mac

There are two nice math/scripting programs for the mac:

• Scilab
• Octive

For Scilab:

Full gooey for mac (windows and linux) with a compiled app ready to install. This is a great app and nice interface, but the coding is different than MatLab and Octive.

To download:

• Scilab: http://www.scilab.org/products/scilab/download
• After downloading, move the application to the application folder. The application is ready to install and run.

For Octave:

Is a terminal based without a gooey interface. However, with the aid of Aquaterm it can also do graphing.

To download:

• Octive: http://octave.sourceforge.net/
• Aquaterm: http://sourceforge.net/projects/aquaterm/
• After downloading, move the applications to the applications folder. The applications is ready to install and run.
